The Office Drones: Episode Sacramento (LIVE At Origins Game Fair)

Last weekend, we had the opportunity to do a live show of our Patreon-exclusive D&D show, The Office Drones, to a very open-minded audience at Origins Game Fair here in Columbus, OH. It was a super good time and everyone there was really cool with playing in the weird space of a side episode based on a show that's been running for 3+ years on a closed Patreon feed they'd never heard of owned and operated by a podcast they'd also never heard of.

This is the recording of that episode, and it was a BLAST. We created all new characters that live in the extended Office Drones universe, but rest assured no prior knowledge is necessary to enjoy this one-off episode.

If you like this and want to experience more of the story of The Office Drones, go back and check out some of the supercut episodes we've uploaded to the free feed (Book 1: https://open.spotify.com/episode/17MTbQNZlJwUQJu0Fy1lVY?si=844a760ad62f402d; Book 2: https://open.spotify.com/episode/48LEjg152yvD7FKQ0bhIFq?si=0603a9edefda4166). If you like that, consider subscribing to our Patreon feed where for $5 a month you can have access to the full campaign so far!

FLAVOR TEXT: Dungeons & Dragons

You enter a room, extinguished candles smolder upon sconces that fill the dark alcoves all around you. Your vision is limited unless you have darkvision. Do any of you have darkvision? Oh you do? Oh you all do? Nevermind, you see everything just fine but in greyscale. Also, the door was actually a mimic. The carpet is a mimic too. Roll initiative.

We gather in this nameless tavern today to dive into the history, deep lore, and fun knolwedge bits of Dungeons & Dragons. Join us as we discuss the origin of the world's greatest roleplaying game, the differences in prior editions, a discussion into just how fantastic of a character the Raven Queen is, and ending with a fun game of "Is it a D&D Adventure Module or is it a Quest from a Video Game?"

Special thanks to our favorite 20-sided dice rolling agent of chaos, "@whomstrodomus" for commissioning today's episode. If you're interested in comissioning your own FLAVOR TEXT, come check out our patreon at patreon.com/debatethiscast.

If you don't know what this is and a D&D real-play podcast featuring real-life office employees fighting D&D monsters with JIRA tickets and HR benefits summaries sounds like nonsense, then check out the first of this Director's Cut series originally uploaded in November 2021 titled "The Office Drones DX: Book 1." And, if you like this and want to hear more, please consider subscribing to our Patreon at $5/month for access to all current and backlogged episodes of the show!

The Office Drones DX: Book 1

Once upon a time, there was a mundane office situated right in the heart of Corporate America. The worker drones toiled day after day under the gilded gleam of cheap, fluorescent lighting while their capitalist overloads pontificated in windowed dens made of rich mahogany. That is, until fate intervened and spirited away three of these seemingly ubiquitous drones to a fantastical world filled with magic, monsters, and winged zombie-demons. These are the adventures of The Office Drones.

As a final Spooktacular Express present, please enjoy this Director's Cut edition of the first six episodes of our Patreon-exclusive D&D real-play podcast, The Office Drones! This massive supercut should give you all the context you need to catch up on our first major story arc, which introduces the world of Marvis and Marvis and its major players. If you'd like to hear more, please consider subscribing to our Patreon at $5/month for access to all current and backlogged episodes of the show.
