Episode 42: Why is Muk So Horny? (ft Will Grant)

The release of Pokemon Sword and Shield is just days away. And, instead of adding to the controversy, we are doing what we usually do and avoid confrontation altogether. So instead, we decided to mash up the worlds of the WWE together with Pokemon to give you the all-new Professional Pokemon Wresting League. Ground Rules: No Legendaries and no Fighting Types.

Special thanks to our guest, Will Grant, for joining in this Pokemon smack down! Will is one-half of Blasting Off Again, a Pokemon anime watch-along podcast by The Upford Network. Check them out at upfordnetwork.com.

Episode 41: Snakes on the Plain

One half of our podcast really likes The Witcher and the other half is Matt and Kyle. So for our final stop on 2019's Spooktacular Express, we are going to explore the absolute horror that is living as a greasy villager in the Witcher universe. Andrew roleplays as the insufferable person who “read the books first,” Kyle unleashes the hounds of hell, and Matt cobbles together puns on puns on puns.

Episode 40: No Quid Pro Quos in Mephisto's Realm

Before Nic Cage donned the flaming skull of Ghost Rider, the Spirit of Vengeance has inhabited many bodies, dating all the way back to the Stone Age. Since we didn't want the goofiest iteration of Ghost Rider to be a boy on a wooly mammoth, we decided to mash this universe together with Mario Kart to bring you some flaming skulls with your red shells and your banana peels. Todd pitches a Parakoopa with a violent past, Kyle gets metal with a frownie-faced Lakitu, and Andrew holds a different argument with a shy guy on a pogo stick.

For the first stop as part of this year's Spooktacular Express, we're going to visit the delightful and whimsical world of Animal Crossing, where everyone is always happy, smiling, and certainly not murdered. So imagine our surprise when our passengers' visit was cut short by the news that Mayor Tortimer's dead body was found floating in the river covered in stab wounds. And it's up to us to find the killer.

Special thanks to our guest moderator, and all-around wonderful human Tom Zalatnai! Do you like an open discussion forum and improv comedy? Check out Up For Discussion. Episode 38: The Spirit of the Baltimore Ravens is To Win

Metal Gear Solid is a very silly game. Please bear that in mind while we explain the premise of this week’s episode is that the military has decided that it’s somehow up to us to stop all the biggest, baddest bosses of the MGS series by unleashing a single Kirby to lead us to victory. So now instead of a flame crown or ice breath, Kirby is going to acquire psychic powers, four tentacle arms, and a really big gun.

Episode 37: How Many Yards Are In a Yeet?

Our boy Link has recovered a lot of equipment in the form of treasure throughout the years. From bombs to arrows to slingshots, his arsenal is a veritable tool belt for adventuring. So this week, we ask: What if you could take only one of Link’s items on a deserted island? Todd stands by the grabby/pointy Hookshot, Andrew builds a block-based economy with the Cane of Somaria, and Kyle fus-ro-dahs coconuts into the horizon with the Deku Leaf.

Episode 33: Make America Gotta Go Fast...Again

Oh Sonic...our very fast boy with a very complicated past. He’s been a street fighter, an Olympic athlete, a zero gravity surfboard racer, and even a knight facing off against King Arthur. We decided to give everyone’s favorite blue hedgehog yet another second chance by fixing some of Sonic’s more pained gimmicks. Our crack team of armchair-quarterbacking game designers are proposing massive overhauls to Sonic and The Secret Rings, the Werehog, and the edgy ‘dark’ version of Sonic whose power is gun-having.

Episode 32: Please Stop Trying to Domesticate My Near-Sighted Son

Yeah, sure, your pet is your best friend because and they provide you with unrequited love and companionship, yada yada yada. But your dog would be waaay cooler if it could breathe fire. Hypothetical situations like this are what we here at Debate This! do best. And so, we’re taking some of Mario’s most iconic baddies and housebreaking them. Oh no, Chargin’ Chuck peed on the carpet again…

Episode 27: Gyrados Jim’s Gyrados Gym for Gyra-Bros

A trainer’s first Pokemon is arguably the most important impact on how their fighting style develops and more importantly how they grow as a trainer and as a person. So naturally, the Pokemon that best map onto our personalities are a goopy snot dragon, a swole fish with large calves, and a metallic pangolin walled off from emotions. Fortunately, Tom Zalatnai from Up for Discussion and Blasting Off Again stopped by to remind us that there is good in the world, and that a Pokemon can be used to improve society and are not just for Instagram fan pages.

Episode 24: Talkin' Tungsten

It is the year 20XX. Gigantic monsters have appeared from the depths of the Pacific Ocean to wreak havoc, and so our only option is to build larger robots largely themed around specific elements and/or animals to combat them. The only thing standing between us and absolute destruction is the combined power of Flash Man, Guts Man, and Armored Armadillo. We’re screwed.
